Holding On

I want to snapshot this season

Hold it longer than it’s lasting

That I may pull out the pictures,

– Give them a re-look –

On darker, harder days.

Not for pining or looking back’s sake,

(in forsaking a different present)

But as a carry over, a help

– through, past –

What may otherwise seem too hard,

All wrong, not this.

May looking back

Be more a spurring on:

Regret in the wake

And all that’s forgotten.
