Book Nomad

 I cart My accoutrements

Room to room

Place to place.

A nomad

Suggesting industry

(But really begging for it).

At various stages of unread

The sand of my house-dust’s biome

Doesn’t stick

Only because

A vain pursuit

Of usage

Keeps them moving.

Nevertheless

Were I to leave one behind

It’d most assuredly be

The exact one I “needed”

And didn’t have.

So I’ll keep living

This way

Room to room

(And place to place).

A nomad

Whose imperative necessities

Are stacks of books

– And though a constant

Something akin to worship –

Lugged quite unceremoniously

Everywhere I go.

  1. Isn’t it a good show ? Smart, funny, sad, kind of quirky at times, good writing, and for me… easy to look at.
But, Rory is always carrying books around everywhere she goes.
